THE PLOT:

When all of the town's letters to Santa come back unanswered, Father Mouse discovers it's connected to an article accusing Santa of being a fraud and no such thing. The letter was written by super nerd Albert Mouse. Joshua Trundle local clock maker has come up with a plan to try to get Santa to forgive the town with a singing clock.

But when Albert accident causes the clock to go ka-blooey during the test ring, Joshua is hated by the whole town and it looks like there's no Chrismtas unless Albert can find a way to undo his mistake. But first he has to be convinced that there is a Santa.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Rankin and Bass does it again. The music is what makes this special truly special. Rankin and Bass make some of the best musical specials ever in the history of Television and 'Twas The Night Before Chrismtas is no exception. It's fun, it's heartwarming, it's everything you would expect from a holiday special. But it's not perfect, I think I should note some major goofs in the animation. The reindeer mainly, the ears are too round, they look more like reinmice then reindeer and the sleigh bells are too large. I mean these are huge bells. Too big. But other then that it does a great job in entertaining and teaching a message about keeping an open mind to the unknown. 9 STARS to a true classic.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd on this one, but the whole animatation upset me more it did him, I am a perfectionist when it comes to animatation and I don't like imperfection when it comes to cartoons. So I give 8 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ STORY (The story works.)
+ MUSIC (The music is wonderful.)
+ CHARACTERS (The characters are well written.)
+ CAST (The voice over cast does a great job.)
+ HUMORISH AND TOUCHING (Everything you would expect in a Rankin and Bass special.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- ANIMATATION (I wish they didn't use this cheap-o animation.)

...AND FINALLY...

- NOT FOR EVERYONE (As always, if you don't celebrate Christmas for whatever reason, this isn't for you.)
